Our architectural firm was commissioned to submit a tender design package in 2014 for the adaptive reuse of the existing barracks and married quarters into the University of Gibraltar located in Europa Point. Our design approach was to create an educational hub that would seamlessly integrate the old and the new elements of the site. We aimed to preserve the historic integrity of the original buildings while creating a modern and inspiring environment for learning. The scope of the project included reconfiguring the spaces to accommodate lecture halls, classrooms, offices, and laboratories, as well as upgrading the building services to meet the requirements of a modern academic institution.
